Do You Fail at Follow Up?

Do You Fail at Follow Up?

Don The Idea Guy September 30, 2010

How many times have you sent an email and forgot to follow-up, only to discover you missed an opportunity because you forgot to be in the right place at the right time?  A clever new website I learned about from my friends at CoolBusinessIdeas.com allows you three fantastic ways to follow-up on tasks, contacts, and emails.

The site is www.followupthen.com, and here’s how it works…
When crafting your email message to a prospect or the task owner on a project, simply choose one the follow-up options offered by FollowUpThen.com’s automated (and free) service.  Write your email and address it as normal, then add [time-increment]@followupthen.com to your message. Like so:

CC: 1day@followupthen.com
Follows up with you and recipient in 1 day.

BC: tomorrow@followupthen.com
Follows up with only you tomorrow.

You can enter any time increment as the email name (1day, 2months, nextfri, etc.) all @followupthen.com and the system will send a message just to you (if you add the address to the BCC box) or it will follow-up with you and your other email recipients (if you add the address to the CC box.)

You can even send follow-up reminders directly to yourself by using the @followupthen.com address in the TO box.

TO: nextweds@followupthen.com
Follows up with you next Wednesday.

The service is simple, free, and could prove to be invaluable.  This is a great weapon to add to your sales and CRM arsenal. I’m definitely a fan!

Back from the grave!

Oh, hey. ‘sup? Yeesh. I guess the title of that last blog post turned out to be a little more prophetic than I originally intended! The prior article published on December 31, 2020 was simply meant to signify the last in a series of daily posts that I published through the entire year of 2020 […]

Become An Idea Distillery

When you think about a distillery you probably think of a quality bourbon or whisk(e)y where a master distiller chooses the best ingredients, adds heat, allows it to age, and then pours that precious essence into bottles for consumers to share and savor. I think this same general process can be used for taking imaginative […]

What’s Your Special Sauce?

The famous fast-food McBurger has at least two of things that sets it apart from all the other burgers on all the other menus. First, there is the song (how many other sandwiches have a song??) which basically tells you everything that comes on the burger and the order in which it is assembled. And […]
