The Most Dangerous Dragons Guard The Greatest Treasure

The tallest mountains have the greatest views.
The sharpest thorns protect the prettiest flowers.
The softest voice whispers the most mysterious secrets.
The toughest teachers taught the most valuable lessons.

No matter the metaphor, my point is that the toughest challenges bring the greatest rewards.

We all have those monster goals we want to achieve (that’s the treasure) but we have to conquer fears and hurdle obstacles (that’s the dragon) in order to reach those goals.

Some people say the want the treasure, but they let the dragon scare them away.
Are you willing to do battle and risk embarrassment, injury, or defeat in order to reach your goal?

• Will you risk the rejection of a dozen or more phone calls to try and win that big client you want?
• Will you risk the blank stares, heckling, and lack of laughs to try stand-up comedy?
• Will you risk exhaustion, coming in last, and perspiring in public to run your first 5K event?

The dragon is there to see how much you really care about getting the treasure.
