I’m guest bartending at Huli Huli Tiki Lounge on 12/15

If you know me well, you know I love me some Hawaiian shirts and rum-filled tiki cocktails, so I was extremely excited when my friends at Huli Huli Tiki Lounge invited me to be a guest bartender during their Sippin’ Santa event on Tuesday,  December 15th from 5-8pm in Powell, Ohio!

I’ll be behind the bar at Huli Huli Tiki Lounge (and behind COVID protection measures like a face mask and plastic barrier) helping to mix holiday drinks and sling some Christmas-spiced simple syrups to serve-up an incredible seasonal selection of tropical beverages.

Columbus’ own Huli Huli Tiki Lounge is one of only 29 Sippin’ Santa locations in the world (and the only one in Ohio!). They’ve turned the tiki bar into a holiday destination drenched in kitschy Christmas decorations and stocked with a special event-only drink selection like the North Pole Punch which is made with bourbon, overproof and dark Jamaican rums, creme de banana, maple syrup, cinnamon syrup, and lime juice, the Brah Humbug which is a combination of scotch, Drambuie, and mulled wine syrup served hot in a holiday tiki mug, and the Blitzen Bowl with is served in a large custom vessel that looks like a tiki hot tub with Santa and Blitzen relaxing in a pool of Jamaican and demerara rums, allspice dram, apricot brandy, tuaca, ginger syrup, lime juice, angostura bitters, and almond bitters. It says it serves two — but you may want to bring a couple extra friends! It comes with a ladle so you can serve up individual cups.

There are probably a dozen different specialty drinks to choose from, but one of my favorites is the signature Sippin Santa made from aged demerara rum, amaro, nutmeg syrup, cinnamon syrup, lemon juice, and orange juice. It also comes served in a special mug featuring a Santa dressed in beach gear. This mug (like all the others) are available to purchase and take home to add to your holiday decor. We stuck some candy canes in our Sippin Santa mug and keep him on a coffee table in our living room.
