What’s Hiding In The Clouds?

Don The Idea Guy

Take a look at the featured image accompanying this article. Nearest you in the foreground is a platform. This represents where you are now; your latest completed accomplishment. Off in the distance you can see a mountain peak. That is your next goal; the prize on which your eyes are set. In between where you are now and where you want to go next is a vast space obscured by clouds.

The clouds illustrate the wide swath of unknown that lies between where you are and where you want to be.

What’s waiting (lurking, hidden) in those clouds for you?
There’s no doubt that the clouds might be hiding opportunity from view.
It’s just as possible the clouds are obscuring potholes and pitfalls that litter your path of progress.

The truth (cloudy as usual) lies somewhere in between.

Although you may know where you want your journey to take you because you set clear goals for yourself (at least I hope you did!) you can’t always see a clear and direct path that takes you directly to your destination — there are too many detours and side quests along the way to draw a straight line from here to there.

It’s like a Choose Your Own Adventure book.
Your path remains obscured because you haven’t chosen it yet. How can the clouds clear enough to show you that you turn left up ahead when you might still yet choose to turn right?

Don’t curse the clouds…
Head right toward them.

Exciting things lie on the other side of those fluffy puffs of mystery. Sure, there might be some trials and tribulations awaiting you, but there are also adventures to be experienced and treasures to be captured as you journey toward achieving your next exciting goal.

And once you reach the base of that next mountain and make your perilous way to its highest peak and plant your flag of victory, you will look out toward the horizon in search of your next objective. When you see it off in the distance, you’ll notice those familiar clouds once again veiling the trails that lead to the next destination — and that’s when you’ll know you’re actually on the right path again.

The Ugly Back

Everyone goes to the museum to admire the pretty fronts of artistic tapestries, but the ugly backs face the wall and are rarely on display. My wife decided she wanted to host a big family Thanksgiving this year. While we were in the process of cleaning up the house and putting our (my) clutter. Hapy […]
