It Never Seems Possible Until The Due Date

People spend more time stressing out about a deadline than doing the actual work required to meet the due date. They’ll publish social media posts whining about how busy they are, they’ll complain to their office mates about the unreasonable requests being made by “these pain in the ass customers”, and avoid calls from clients who are simply seeking an update on the progress of the project — but there isn’t any, because the person who is supposed to be doing the work is still bellyaching about the fact they have to do it.

The important homophone in “Due Date” is DO

At some point the haters stop hating (at least out loud) because they realize that none of that whining got them any closer to completing the project (or perhaps they simply wore themselves out — complaining at that level has to be exhausting!) and they finally sit down and begin to do the work.

To their surprise, they quickly get into the zone and the work simply flows out of them. 

Amazingly, they complete a first draft in advance of the deadline and send a copy out to the client for review a day early!

Instead of complaining about the due date — just do the work.
